Health funds and claiming.
Victor Crescent Dental Clinic is an approved HCF provider, and on-the-spot claiming through HICAPS is available for eligible health fund members, so you usually pay only the gap at your appointment. Bring your membership card.
How much your fund pays depends on your policy, your annual limits, any waiting periods and the item being claimed, so the benefit is usually less than the fee. Ask the team how your cover applies and what any out-of-pocket cost may be before treatment.
For children, the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) may help eligible families. Check your child's eligibility with Services Australia and ask the team how it applies when you book. For more background, read how HCF and other health fund extras work for dental care and whether dental is covered by Medicare.
How claiming works at your visit
- Bring your private health fund membership card to your appointment.
- The team checks your cover and, for eligible members, claims on the spot through HICAPS.
- You usually pay only the gap at your appointment, instead of paying in full and claiming later.
- For anything beyond a check-up, ask for a written treatment plan with item codes so you can confirm the benefit with your fund.
